Instagram has begun a test with Brazilian users with a new feature called “Reels.” It seems that the new feature should make the popular app “TikTok” forget.
Reels can be found at the place where you now also film and make stories. Swipe the camera to the side a few times and you will end up with the new function. Here you can, just like on TikTok, choose a song and then record your video. Whether and when Reels can also be tried outside of Brazil is not yet clear.
Snapchat
It is not the first time that Instagram has copied a popular app or feature. The aforementioned stories are very similar to a feature of the same name that Snapchat was the first to introduce. Instagram stories are very popular among users.
Incidentally, Instagram has played no part in Instagram. Since taking over the stories function, the number of users of the platform has grown considerably. Snapchat’s growth has been leveling off for years.
The originally Chinese app TikTok claims to have 500 million active users. The app would also have been downloaded more than a billion times. The app is also extremely popular among children in the West. With TikTok you can film yourself while you dance, sing or play. The maker can then easily edit the videos himself.
