What Elon Musk is launching with its Tesla Gigafactory in Germany will break all records, according to all indications. That is the plan.
An official announcement mixes up the already wild rumors about the upcoming Tesla Gigafactory in Brandenburg near Berlin. Because supposedly Elon Musk is planning something that could exceed all previous performances of his electric car manufacturer. It is about the possible number of Tesla cars to be produced there.
Tesla Gigafactory: This is how Elon Musk wants to break his own records
According to a notice from the state of Brandenburg, the Tesla Gigafactory planned near Berlin is even larger than expected. Not only will Model Y be produced there, as previously thought, but also possibly Model 3 and other models.
That should drive up the size of the factory, including the number of jobs. In addition, the planned quantities of Tesla cars to be produced were also corrected in the statement. 500,000 electric cars from Elon Musk’s company are expected to roll off the assembly line there every year.
That alone is more than Tesla has produced so far. For comparison: in 2019 the company delivered around 367,500 vehicles. It had increased its own production by 50 percent. If things go as planned, the Tesla Gigafactory should be the project with which Elon Musk breaks all his records.
Looking for a job at Tesla?
So far, the official number had been 150,000 Tesla cars from Germany. With the announcement by the State Office for the Environment in particular, the approval process for the planned plant has officially opened. Currently, Tesla has on his website already first job postings published . Production at the site in the Brandenburg province is scheduled to begin in July 2021. Tesla cars are to be created for the German and European market.
In the run-up to the start, other things cause trouble. So a bat Elon Musks got in the way of his big plans . The question is still whether the Tesla Gigafactory threatens a similar disaster as the BER airport .
